2022 is almost halfway through, and the year has kept PlayStation owners busy. So far, not every month has been stacked with huge releases, and things have been rather slow since the end of March. That said, 2022 has produced games like Elden Ring, Gran Turismo 7, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, Horizon Forbidden West, and Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, all titles that garnered critical acclaim.
The PlayStation 5 library is consistently expanding, and the best is presumably yet to come for Sony's current console. In the meantime, the PlayStation 4 continues to receive love with cross-generation titles, so people who have yet to upgrade still have plenty to look forward to.
Which PS5 games are coming soon to shelves around the world? Which PS4 games are on the horizon?
Updated August 15, 2022: Over the last few days, the upcoming PS5 and PS4 games were added to the scheduler: Arcade Archives: Gun Frontier, Train Sim World 3, Moonscars, Truck Driver: Premium Edition.
PS5 & PS4 Games Coming Out In August 2022
So far, August 2022 has a decent selection of PS5 and PS4 games, although most projects are niche. The month's biggest release is undoubtedly the Saints Row reboot, a new chapter in the open-world franchise that has so far received a mixed reception for its change in direction. The game seems to be an attempt to reset things following the outlandishly over-the-top Saints Row 4, and hopefully, it starts an exciting era for the series. Anyone who wants a head start can jump into Saints Row's Boss Factory character creator as that has already been released.
The rest of August consists of smaller but exciting games. Gigabash is a fun kaiju fighting title, and Two Point Campus should be a must-play for lovers of management sims. Madden NFL 23 certainly has an audience, and the same can be said for F1 Manager 2022. Anime fans should keep an eye on Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: Burst Forth!! Choro-gon Breath and SD Gundam Battle Alliance.

PS5 & PS4 Games Coming Out In October 2022
If September looks set to get things rolling for 2022, then October is when the year really hits its stride. PS5 and PS4 owners will not be short of options over this month, and the releases cover a wide array of genres and styles. Overwatch 2 launches as a free-to-play game at the beginning of the month. Presuming it is well received, this will be one of the biggest gaming-related releases of the month.
October 2022 has a consistent schedule, with something major coming out every few days. DC fans who have been searching for something to fill in the Arkham-shaped hole in their hearts should keep an eye on Gotham Knights. After being a Switch exclusive for more than a year, No More Heroes 3 will be making its way to the PS5 and PS4. Dragon Ball: The Breakers takes the legendary anime property and gives it a Dead by Daylight makeover.
