Crypto will return in Destroy All Humans! 2 - Reprobed on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, as a full remake of the second game in the classic series was announced during THQ Nordic's 10th anniversary stream. This confirms PlayStation's accidental Destroy All Humans! 2 leak, and the remake will take Crypto ten years into the future and to the west coast, England, Japan, Russia, and the moon. Destroy All Humans! 2 is often considered to be the strongest of the mainline trilogy, and the remake will apparently strive to preserve fan-favorite moments with updated graphics and improved gameplay.

Destroy All Humans! 2 - Reprobed was just one of six new announcements made during THQ Nordic's digital showcase, with several of the other games also being retro revivals from THQ's past. Outcast 2 and Jagged Alliance 3 are all-new takes on long-forgotten sequels to cult classic titles, continuing the publisher's tradition of reviving older, niche games for modern audiences. On the other side of the coin, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is a brand-new platforming adventure following on the heels of Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated's success.

As for Destroy All Humans 2! - Reprobed, a pair of THQ Nordic trailers were shown at the publishers 10th Anniversary Showcase. The cinematic announcement demonstrates that the franchise's devil-may-care humor is still fully intact, while a gameplay trailer shows off the visual upgrades in the works for the new-gen experience, as it will only be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC at launch. Just like the first Destroy All Humans! remake, Reprobed's mechanics will hit the same beats as the original sequel, but the controls have seen some modernization. Additionally returning is the voice work from the older title, meaning every scene in the game's story will maintain its fidelity while sporting a fresh coat of paint.

Although THQ Nordic didn't announce a release date for Destroy All Humans! 2 - Reprobed, it did reveal that the game will come to the PC for the first time. This comes alongside an initial console release skipping PS4 and Xbox One this time around, as well as Nintendo Switch. The Destroy All Humans! remake released on Switch earlier in 2021, so it's entirely possible a launch on the Nintendo console could be in the cards sometime in the future. As it did in the original sequel, Crypto's arsenal expands in Destroy All Humans! 2 - Reprobed with five new weapons, including a gun that launches meteor strikes and a lure for a giant space worm. The infamous Anal Probe also returns from the first title, as suggested by the remake's over-the-top title subtitle.

Destroy All Humans! 2 - Reprobed's rapid-fire release after the first remake could mean there's enough momentum for even more Crypto adventures. The successful relaunch of Destroy All Humans! sold more than what was expected internally at THQ Nordic, making another seem like a safe bet. There are two other Destroy All Humans entries THQ Nordic could draw from if Destroy All Humans! 2 - Reprobed sells well: the Wii-exclusive Big Willy's Revenge and the PS3 and Xbox 360's Path of the Furon. However, because of generally poor reception in the latter two titles, it may be just as likely that a new sequel to the two numbered sequels could be next.
