Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox Bundle Leaked By Amazon
Amazon Canada appears to have leaked a special edition Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One X console, sparking speculation and debate amongst fans. The leak comes a few months after the game’s release date was delayed to September 17, 2020 from its original release date of April 16, 2020. Since the delay, CD Projekt Red has assured fans the game will not be pushed back a second time.
Cyberpunk 2077 was first announced in 2012. So far, the game is considered by many to be a technological marvel, showcasing designs and advancements that some believe current-gen consoles are ill-equipped to handle. However, that has not prevented CD Projekt Red from passing major development milestones to release the title for both current-gen and next-gen devices. In addition, those who purchase the game for Xbox One will be eligible for a free upgrade (of the game) for the next-gen Xbox Series X.
According to a Twitter post, Amazon Canada leaked a Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One X bundle, with the console and controller thematically designed to reflect the game world for which they were created. The bundle has not been confirmed by either CD Projekt Red or Microsoft’s Xbox Game Studios. Despite the lack of certainty surrounding the leak, fans have taken to Twitter offering their opinions of the bundle, ranging from criticism of the console’s aesthetic to celebration of the controller’s. Moreover, some fans are taking jabs at Xbox for trying to sell another Xbox One mere months before the release of the Xbox Series X.
While not all leaks are proven to be false, most of them should be taken with a grain of salt until confirmed or denied by the game developers or console manufacturers. It’s understandable that gamers want new information as soon as it’s available, but misinformation does nothing beyond harm companies within the industry, forcing them to do damage control or change their plans due to a lack of patience by consumers. However, it’s also those companies’ responsibility to keep information they wish to keep hidden until the right time secure, and it’s their job to partner with other entities who can keep that information secret as well.
CD Projekt Red has fans eagerly awaiting the release of Cyberpunk 2077. However, while gamers anticipate the game’s release, the developer already has plans for their next title after Cyberpunk’s release. Regardless of whether the Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox bundle leak is verified at a later date, The Witcher developer’s skills are undeniable, and fans will likely be thrilled with whatever they produce. Bundles have always been a cherry on top, but not everyone likes cherries.
Cyberpunk 2077 will release on September 17, 2020 and will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
