TJ Miller Says He & Ryan Reynolds Have Made Up After Deadpool Comments
T.J. Miller addresses his feud with Ryan Reynolds following his comments about what happened on the Deadpool set. Both actors starred together in Deadpool and Deadpool 2, Fox films based on the wisecracking Marvel comic book character of the same name. Reynolds starred as the titular anti-hero and will be reprising the role in the upcoming Deadpool 3, while Miller portrayed his friend Weasel.
The Deadpool franchise has been a huge commercial and critical success since the first installment was released in 2016. Reynolds' performance was highly praised as were the films' adult humor and faithfulness to the original comic books. Recently, though, there was some controversy regarding the films. Miller discussed his experience making the Deadpool films in an interview with Adam Corolla on October 8 and surprised listeners when he claimed he would never work with Reynolds again, stating that the actor "hated him".
Miller confirms that he and Reynolds have reconciled since his comments about their strained relationship in a new interview with SiriusXM's Jim Norton & Sam Roberts, according to THR. When asked about the status of the actors' relationship, Miller describes how Reynolds reached out to him immediately after his comments were released, and the situation was quickly resolved. Miller then praises Reynolds' talent and expresses his frustration with the media's relentless focus on negativity. "I didn't think that I had said anything that was that negative," the actor explains, "I feel bad that it was picked up and that it was misconstrued. For sure. But no, it was the next day... he and I talked, and it’s fine." Miller adds:

“It was very cool for him to say, ‘Hey, you know, I just heard on the show that you were upset about this.’ And I kind of said, ‘You know, I’m not,’ and then we sort of just hashed it out really quickly.”
What TJ Miller & Ryan Reynolds Reconciling Means for Deadpool 3
For better or worse, on-set feuds can have an effect on the outcome of an upcoming project. While the negative press can definitely create more buzz around a film, it can also put it at risk of not happening at all. For example, press around the alleged tension on the Don't Worry Darling set may have indirectly contributed to the box office success of the film. On the other hand, the very public fight between Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall may have been the deciding factor in nixing a third Sex and the City sequel. What's more, the dissonance between fiction and reality can come as shock for audiences who have grown familiar with, or even fond of, an onscreen friendship.
Luckily, Deadpool fans can rest assured that all is well between Deadpool and Weasel, both on screen and in real life. While Miller currently isn't likely to appear in Deadpool 3, chances for a surprise return are a bit higher now that the actor and Reynolds are on good terms. Though the reconciliation is still fresh, perhaps Miller will reconsider his previous vow to never again work with Reynolds, and audiences can hope to see the comic book friendship on screen once again.
