Secret Invasion Set Photos Show Better Look at Emilia Clarke's MCU Role
New Secret Invasion set photos show Emilia Clarke's mystery character as part of ongoing reshoots. With Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe winding down, it will not be long until Secret Invasion helps kick off Phase Five. The Disney+ series brings Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn's Talos back together decades after Captain Marvel's events. The super spy and shape-shifting Skrull headline Marvel Studios' adaptation of the classic comic event Secret Invasion, which focuses on the Skrulls infiltrating Earth as part of their attempt to take over the planet.
Marvel finally kicked off the marketing campaign for Secret Invasion at D23 2022, as that is where the first trailer debuted. It featured plenty of footage of Nick Fury, Talos, and MCU vet Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) in their returns, but it also was responsible for introducing several important new characters. Kingsley Ben-Adir plays a rebel Skrull leader Gravik, while Olivia Colman plays Agent Sonya Falsworth. One of Secret Invasion's mysterious new additions is played by Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke. Marvel has yet to confirm her character's identity, sparking mass speculation about her importance.
Secret Invasion might be slated to debut on Disney+ in spring 2023, but Marvel Studios is still putting the finishing touches on the series. That includes continued reshoots for the Phase 5 production. Now, Just Jared shared several new set photos from Secret Invasion's reshoots that feature Clarke's mystery MCU character. She is shown in a meat truck and potentially being pursued by a few unidentified men in Europe.

Who Emilia Clarke's MCU Character In Secret Invasion Could Be
The identity of Emilia Clarke's MCU character in Secret Invasion has been repeatedly speculated about in the lead up to the series' release. Future SWORD leader and part-mutant Abigail Brand is one of the most popular suggestions for Clarke's role. Although the actress is not sporting the character's iconic green hair from the comics, that could be one way for Marvel to preserve the surprise throughout production. Abigail Brand would be a huge role for Clarke to play in Secret Invasion and beyond.
Some other popular theories for who Clarke's Secret Invasion character is include the Skrull queen Veranke or Marvel superhero Jessica Drew a.k.a. Spider-Woman. Marvel has so far been very careful not to include any potentially revealing information in publicly accessibly portions of production or in the marketing. As a result, it does seem that the identity of Clarke's mystery MCU character is going to be a big surprise for Secret Invasion to deliver.
