Ronda rousey to play herself in biopic

Paramount Pictures has obtained the film rights to UFC champion Ronda Rousey's autobiography, My Fight / Your Fight, and has tapped the undefeated fighter to star as herself. The film will follow the life and career of Rousey as a mixed martial arts fighter.


According to The Hollywood Reporter, the script will come from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes scribe Mark Bomback. Rousey and Mary Parent will produce, with Bomback also serving as an executive producer.

The biopic won't be Rousey's first appearance on the big screen; the undefeated champion previously appeared in Furious 7, Expendables 3, and Entourage. Rousey can be seen next alongside Mark Wahlberg in Mile 22.

Rousey defended her belt this past weekend against Bethe Correia, knocking out the challenger in 34 seconds to retain her UFC Women's Bantamweight title.
