Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’s Full Length Trailer Is Action Packed And Full Of

The Resident Evil franchise has managed to do something unprecedented in the world of video game movies: succeed. Beginning in 2002 as a tight, single location thriller with a sci-fi twist, the series has evolved over the course of six movies to become an apocalyptic nightmare. Paul W.S. Anderson and Milla Jovovich will soon bring the franchise to an end with the aptly titled Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, and it looks like Alice plans to go out with a bang. Much like the first footage we saw for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, this new trailer really sells the finality of the film. Alice is done running, and she has every intention of bringing the fight to the Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts), Alexander Isaacs (Iain Glen), and Umbrella Corporation when she finds out that she may be able to reverse the effects of the T-Virus. Along the way she teams up with familiar faces such as Claire Redfield (Ali Larter) Ada Wong (Li Bingbing), to help bring the franchise full circle. Expect plenty of monsters, motorcycles, and machine guns along the way.

In an era defined by franchises and interconnected universes, it's really refreshing to see a film that seems intent on truly bringing its series to an end. Everything we've seen from Resident Evil: The Final Chapter seems to indicate that Alice's journey will genuinely come to a close by the time the credits roll on this film, which means literally anything can happen. Sure, we expect her to kick some serious ass and rack up an enormous body count during The Final Chapter, that doesn't mean she's guaranteed a happy ending in which she walks off into the sunset.

However, despite the apocalyptic backdrop, we should really note that the final installment in the Resident Evil franchise looks like a ton of fun. It's unclear whether or not the actual movie will utilize the fast paced, rock and roll style that has characterized the trailers, but such a creative decision could go a long way towards establishing The Final Chapter as an adrenaline fueled thrill ride. If the film lives up to the high quality of its marketing, then we could be looking at the best Resident Evil film to date. We will continue to keep our fingers crossed that Paul W.S. Anderson and Milla Jovovich manage to send this franchise out on the highest possible note.
