Reacher season 2 is set to begin filming later this month with an expanded cast. Based on the best-selling Jack Reacher series of novels by Lee Child, the show premiered in February 2022 on Amazon, and quickly became one of the streamer's most-watched and popular titles, earning a second season renewal only three days after its debut. While season 1 adapted Childs' first novel, The Killing Floor, season 2 will skip ahead to novel 11, Bad Luck and Trouble.

The announcement that Reacher season 2 will begin filming soon, in late September, came along with the announcement of a bevy of new names joining the cast. According to Collider, Serinda Swan (Inhumans), Ferdinand Kingsley (The Sandman), and Rory Cochrane (CSI: Miami) are joining as series regulars, along with Domenick Lombardozzi (The Wire) as a guest star. Also new to the cast are Luke Bilyk, Dean McKenzie, Edsson Morales, Andres Collantes, Shannon Kook-Chun, Ty Victor Olsson, Josh Blacker, and Al Sapienza.

Reacher season 2 will likely take a more personal bent for Reacher, as it concerns his quest for revenge after investigating the death of his friends from his former military unit. The show is taking its cue from the books, each new novel taking place in a different location with a mostly new set of characters, which means season 1 stand-outs Roscoe and Finlay won't return for season 2. However, Maria Sten's Frances Neagley, a recurring character in the books and a good friend of Reacher's from the 110th, the Army's unit of Special Investigators, and who appeared in season 1, will return for Reacher season 2.
