Michelle Pfeiffer, Lucas Hedges and Tracy Letts Join 'French Exit' Comedy
Azazel Jacobs is directing the adaptation of the Patrick deWitt novel about a tart widow, her directionless husband and the family cat.
Michelle Pfeiffer, Lucas Hedges and Tracy Letts are set to star in French Exit, a surrealist comedy to be directed by Azazel Jacobs.
Pfeiffer will play 60-year-old penniless Manhattan socialite Frances Price, while Hedges will play her directionless son, Malcolm, and Letts fills the role of the embodiment of Franklin, her long-deceased husband, in the form of the family cat.
Patrick deWitt adapted the screenplay based on his novel of the same name, while Thorsten Schumacher’s Rocket Science is financing and producing the film along with Elevation Pictures.
Rocket Science and Wild Bunch are handling international sales, beginning in Cannes. CAA Media Finance is representing the U.S. rights.
Pfeiffer recently starred in Ant-Man and the Wasp and Murder on the Orient Express. Hedges starred in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and Lady Bird. Letts' past credits include The Post and The Big Short.
Pfeiffer is repped by CAA and Management 360. Hedges is repped by CAA and Anonymous Content. Letts is repped by Innovative Artists.
