Michael Shannon and Boyd Holbrook join the cast of the upcoming film The Bikeriders. Shannon is a two-time Academy Award-nominated actor (Revolutionary Road, Nocturnal Animals), who has acted in a number of acclaimed films such as Take Shelter, 99 Homes, The Shape of Water, Bullet Train, and Knives Out. Holbrook is known for his roles in action and horror genre films, such as Logan, The Predator (2018), The Host (2013), In the Shadow of the Moon, and for his recent work in the Netflix TV series The Sandman. He will also feature in the fifth Indiana Jones film.

Now, Holbrook and Shannon have been cast in The Bikeriders, according to Deadline. Damon Herriman (The Tourist, Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood) will also be joining the cast. The Bikeriders is directed by Jeff Nichols. It is inspired by the photography and the 1967 book The Bikeriders by Danny Lyon.

The Bikeriders film will be set in the 1960s and follow the happenings and rise of a fictional Midwestern motorcycle club. Over the course of the decade, the club develops and changes, only to have their image and style threatened when the club begins evolving into a more dangerous gang. Holbrook and Shannon join an already star-infused cast for The Bikeriders. Jodie Comer, Tom Hardy, and Elvis star Austin Butler are already set to act in the film. Sarah Green and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones are producing the film. Fred Berger will executive produce.
