I've no idea why mine are so horror-based, since I hate jumpscare scenes more than anything else in movies, but here they are:
1. Dark City, Director's Cut (the cinema version dropped a lot of backstory and made way too little sense, which is probably one of the reasons why the movie didn't do all that well, while the Matrix just killed it)
2. Nightbreed. I love Clive Barker's old work. Not sure it'll hold up, though.
3. Event Horizon. Best B-grade cult horror I know. "Where we're going, we don't need eyes to see."
And right now, my favourite of the last few years: Spring. Try it out; it's amazing. A bit of fairly tame horror, and a whole ton of really well-built characters and incredibly well-written dialogue, particularly for a horror movie.
