Kit Harington Says Game of Thrones Had The Right Ending
The cast of Game of Thrones was asked about the controversy surrounding the conclusion of the show at the 71st Emmy Awards and Kit Harington said that the show had the right ending, even though he still hasn't seen it yet. Game of Thrones won two awards at the Emmys, even though it was nominated in 32 categories, with the final season taking the Outstanding Drama award and Peter Dinklage winning the Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series award.

Controversy for us — didn’t really effect us."
There is no denying that a lot of dedication and hard work went into shooting the final season of Game of Thrones, especially with episodes like "The Long Night" involving massive battles that were shot at nighttime. The point is whether that hard work paid off in terms of telling a story and leaving the fans satisfied. George R.R. Martin thought the show should continue, which was a sentiment expressed by the fans, as the storyline of the final season felt rushed, with many of the big twists (including Daenery's omnicidal heel turn) coming out of left field.
It's natural that Kit Harington would want to defend the show that has defined his career up to this point, which is also true for all of the actors who were with Game of Thrones from the start.
