Game of Thrones actor Emilia Clarke seems to confirm that Kit Harington is set to return for the HBO sequel show Jon Snow. Both Harington and Clarke starred in pivotal roles in HBO's flagship fantasy series, with Clarke starring as Daenerys Targaryen and Harington as Jon Snow, two central figures fated to meet. Since Game of Thrones' controversial final season, HBO has had several spinoff shows in development. One is finally set to release later this year, with House of the Dragon premiering this summer. That series will be set hundreds of years before the events of the original series, but one recently announced show will reportedly be set after Game of Thrones.

Reports surfaced earlier this month that HBO was in the earliest stages of development on a sequel series centered around Jon Snow. HBO responded to the Jon Snow reports with a cheeky tweet but has otherwise stayed mum on the status of the show. However, if the show moves forward, it will be the first show to directly continue the story told in Game of Thrones. Naturally, a Jon Snow series wouldn't be possible without Harington, but his involvement in the show remained a question mark despite the reports. Now, though, it seems that he may be more involved than it originally seemed.

Speaking to BBC, Clarke seemed to confirm Harington's involvement in the Jon Snow show. The Daenerys actor revealed that, as far as she knows, the show was directly created by Harington and that the Jon Snow actor is "in it from the ground up." Clarke went on to say that, if the show happens, it will be 100% "certified" by the actor who originated the character in Game of Thrones. Check out Clarke's full comments below:

It's been created by Kit as far as I can understand, so he's in it from the ground up. So what you will be watching, hopefully, if it happens, is certified by Kit Harington.

Clarke's apparent confirmation is good news for the Jon Snow series. With Harington involved, it seems almost certain that HBO is further along on the Game of Thrones sequel show than it initially seemed. It also ensures that the show will remain true to the integrity of the character, as Jon Snow's biggest champion is involved directly in the creation of it. This could mean that HBO is more likely to greenlight it and the network also avoids the problem of having to get Harington to commit to the role. While the actor has recently joined the MCU as Dane Whitman in Marvel's Eternals, his future there remains uncertain.

Despite Clarke spilling the beans, it seems unlikely that any announcements from HBO will be forthcoming. Their response on Twitter may be the only comment they make for quite some time as the network is quite focused on launching the upcoming House of the Dragon show, which will focus on the Targaryen dynasty and the civil war named Dance of the Dragons. Once that show is released, though, the Jon Snow series seems like it could become top priority for HBO as it's the most recognizable Game of Thrones spinoff currently in the works.
