Jeremy Renner Recovery Update Shared By Mayor of Kingstown Creator
Following a few updates from the actor himself, an uplifting Jeremy Renner recovery update has been shared by Mayor of Kingstown co-creator Hugh Dillon. With two Oscar nominees under his belt for The Hurt Locker and The Town and over a decade of playing Hawkeye within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Renner is a well-regarded actor who became the subject of numerous headlines on New Year's Day when his snowplow ran over his legs, resulting in his having to be airlifted to a hospital. The time since have brought positive updates about his condition, and those looking for more good news are getting another hopeful update.
While speaking with ComicBook.com to discuss season 2 of the Paramount+ crime drama, Mayor of Kingstown's Hugh Dillon opened up about Jeremy Renner's snowplow accident. The co-creator recalled the "relief" he felt when he heard that Renner was recovering in the ICU and detailed a video the actor sent him confirming his progress, which he described as "so funny and profane." The Timeline of Renner's Accident & Recovery
Renner's injury was first reported on New Year's Day, with Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve explaining that he was attempting to help someone stranded in the snow, only for his Snowcat to roll over him. One of Renner's neighbors is a doctor and was able to construct a tourniquet to stave off Renner's significant blood loss until he could be airlifted, where he would be diagnosed with having suffered blunt chest trauma and other orthopedic injuries, as confirmed by his family in a statement. Renner would make his first post two days after his injury, sharing an image of him in his hospital bed looking somewhat battered, but thanking fans of the actor for their kind words and joking he was in too much pain to type.
In the week since his first statement, Renner has shared videos of his recovery in the hospital, including a visit from his sister and mom for an impromptu spa day and celebrating his birthday with the staff of the hospital he's recovering in. Given the severity of his injuries, no timeline has been shared for when the Hawkeye star will be fully recovered and released from the hospital. There has also been no further updates from Renner or his family from the hospital.

Fellow MCU vets James Gunn, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Chris Pratt, Colbie Smulders and Paul Bettany have all posted their support for the actor on his first update post, while Avengers: Endgame co-director Joe Russo celebrated Renner's birthday with a sweet photo of the two of them with Russo's daughter Ava Russo, who plays Hawkeye's daughter in the MCU, on the set of the superhero epic. While fans of the actor await further details on his recovery, they can look forward to Renner's return on screen with Mayor of Kingstown season 2 premiering on Paramount+ on January 15.
