France adds SVoD 400,000 users in 4 months

The number of SVoD users in France has increased by 400,000 in just four months. Some 4.9 per cent of the country’s population now use an SVoD service on a Daily basis. According to a survey from research companies NPA Conseil and Harris Interactive, this represents 2.7 million people and is a 0.5 per cent growth since last September 2017.

SVoD users are watching an average of 1.7 shows each day – euating to a daily total of 4.7 million views and a 25 per cent growth over four months.

TV series still make up the majority of SVoD content comsumption at 50 per cent, with top titles including Black Mirror, Arrow and Peaky Blinders, all three on Netflix. The next most popular genres are movies (29 per cent) and youth programming.
