The first official teaser trailer for the upcoming limited-series Five Days at Memorial reveals series lead Vera Farmiga as a nurse trapped in a hospital post-Hurricane Katrina. The eight-episode limited series is based on actual events and is an adaption of a book by the same name, written by journalist Sheri Fink, in which she examines and dissects the mass amount of questionable decisions that caregivers made at New Orleans’ Memorial Medical Center following the disaster of Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Now, Apple TV+ has released the first official teaser trailer for its highly anticipated upcoming limited series, Five Days at Memorial. The minute-long teaser dives headfirst into the dramatic and heart-wrenching story the Memorial Medical Center, its workers, and its patients face in the days following one of the country’s biggest historical disasters. The teaser showcases a makeshift morgue, complete with 45 deceased patients who mysteriously may or may not have died from natural causes. Check out the teaser below:


Five Days at Memorial sees Farmiga, Robert Pine, Cherry Jones, Julie Ann Emery, Cornelius Smith Jr., Adepero Oduye, Molly Hager, Michael Gaston, and W. Earl Brown among its cast. The Apple TV+ eight-episode limited series was created by Academy Award winner John Ridley and Emmy Award winner Carlton Cuse, who both directed the upcoming drama series along with Wendey Stanzler. The first three episodes of Five Days at Memorial will premiere on Apple TV+ on August 12, with new episodes to follow weekly, every Friday, thru September 16.
