The official trailer for Disney's next animated feature, Strange World, takes audiences on a grand and bizarre adventure. The brand-new film from the House of Mouse comes from Don Hall, the Oscar-winning director behind Big Hero 6 and Raya and the Last Dragon. Jake Gyllenhaal leads the Clades, a family of farmers descended from a famous explorer that went missing. When an alien world threatens the Clade's own, they must embark on a dangerous mission into uncharted territory.

Walt Disney Animation Studios has just unveiled the full Strange World trailer, providing fans their first good look at the film's story. Unlike the previous teaser, the new video shows how Avalonia's president, Callisto Mal (Lucy Liu), enlists Gyllenhaal's Searcher Clade and his family for the expedition into the weird and colorful landscape. The unprepared adventurers then encounter Searcher's missing father, Jaeger (Dennis Quaid), and various alien creatures that defy expectations. Finally, the Strange World trailer reveals the film's release date: November 23, 2022. Check out the trailer below:

Although Liu and Quaid are the standout voice talents in this trailer, the rest of the cast delivers in terms of personality. Each Clade is unique, throwing a necessary wrench into the film's themes of family legacy and the pressure it puts onto succeeding generations. As with most Disney productions, the story feels epic and full of stakes for the main characters, and the animation looks incredibly vibrant and fluid. Strange World should be another breathtaking, family-oriented animated experience when it arrives in theaters just in time for the holiday season.
