Chambers Trailer: Uma Thurman Stars In Netflix Horror Series
Netflix releases a trailer for the upcoming series Chambers. Uma Thurman and Tony Goldwyn star in the horror thriller, with Stephen Gaghan and Alfonso Gomez-Rejon serving as co-executive producers.
For Chambers, Sivan Alyra Rose stars as Sasha Yazzie, an Arizona woman who survives a heart attack. She receives a heart transplant, and tries to figure out the mystery surrounding her donor’s death. As for the horror premise, Rose’s character seemingly becomes spiritually connected with her deceased donor, and shows personal characteristics that don’t quite make sense. The aforementioned Thurman (Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction) and Goldwyn (Scandal, Insurgent) star as the donor’s parents, Nancy and Ben Lefevre.
Netflix released Chambers’ trailer. To begin, a wide landscape shot precedes a flashback montage that establishes the narrative context. Rose’s Sasha describes her heart attack experience and subsequent transplant, along with the sentiment that “it’s just so weird that someone had die in order for me to live.” This sets the tone for the introduction of Thurman and Goldwyn’s Chambers characters, with a creepy score playing over the visuals. From there, there’s a strange dynamic between the Yazzie and Lefevre families - in the trailer’s second half, the action picks up as Sasha begins experiencing visions, and the Lefevres exhibit bizarre, cult-like behavior. In addition, small amounts of blood are contrasted by surrealistic images, with the Chambers clip ending on an ominous note as the Yazzie patriarch tells his daughter, “This whole heart attack thing was the best thing that ever happened to you.” Check out the Chambers trailer below, along with production stills released by Netflix.
