Does The Boys season 3's trailer finally explain who Victoria Neuman works for and what her ultimate goal might be? From an electric fascist to an elastic phallus, The Boys season 2 dropped one major bombshell after another, but saved one mind-blowing revelation for a shocking ending. All through season 2, a mysterious unseen supe went around assassinating characters by detonating their heads, building towards the finale's dying moments where The Boys revealed Victoria Neuman - an anti-Vought campaigner for supe regulation - as the culprit.

Audiences were left asking why an undercover supe politician would be championing an anti-supe agenda. More importantly, why was Victoria Neuman systematically slaughtering the likes of Susan Raynor and Alastair Adana? Theories range from a secret supe organization to a sibling connection between Victoria and Cindy (the powerful patient from Sage Grove), but a more popular notion is that Victoria Neuman secretly works for Vought - despite publicly slandering Stan Edgar's corporation at every given opportunity. Each of Neuman's psychic attacks benefits Vought one way or another, whether that be silencing Raynor, disrupting Vought's public hearing, or executing the man who helped expose Stormfront's secret origin.

The Boys season 3's trailer drops two glaring clues that Victoria Neuman and Vought are secretly in cahoots. For starters, a panicked Hughie (is there any other kind?) makes a phone call, presumably to Butcher or another member of The Boys, admitting, "I thought we could fight Vought the right way, but it's all rigged." In the final scenes of The Boys season 2, Hughie joined Victoria Neuman's Federal Bureau of Superhero Affairs - a fledgling department designed to police Compound-V subjects. He's been spanking unruly supes ever since, but if Hughie now believes the FBSA is "rigged," something must've gone woefully wrong. This The Boys season 3 scene could happen after Hughie discovers his congresswoman boss is just another puppet on Vought's string.

Clue the second comes courtesy of Victoria Neuman herself. Claudia Doumit isn't super-visible in The Boys season 3's trailer, but she does make a brief cameo... potentially in Vought's Seven Tower of all places. Nary a line is spoken, but when Neuman stands alongside Starlight, the window pattern behind them is a pretty close match for the white crisscross windows of Seven Tower. Perhaps Stan Edgar simply invited his nemesis over for coffee and a catch-up, but her presence in "enemy" territory would definitely count as suspicious considering the Vought-Neuman theories swirling since season 2's finale. Starlight seems wary of her, at least, but that might have more to do with Hugh Campbell.

The Boys season 3 revealing Victoria Neuman as a secret Vought agent wouldn't represent the most shocking revelation, but that's only because it's the outcome season 2's breadcrumbs lead toward. Predictable twists aren't always bad twists if they're logical and satisfying. The Boys' Victoria Neuman mystery also runs deeper than just who she works for. Why would Vought sponsor a politician who slanders them at every given opportunity? What does Victoria herself stand to gain by serving Vought's purpose? One thing's for certain - The Boys season 3 will finally expose Victoria's secret...
