Avengers: Infinity War Will Include A Beloved Harry Potter Location

It seems the Avengers still have some work to do on Earth before they head out into the cosmos to combat Thanos. Avengers: Infinity War has been filming in locations all over the globe, and it seems like we can now add Britain to the list. Seeing as how you probably can't throw a stone in England without it hitting somewhere that a Harry Potter movie has filmed, then Infinity War may be rolling cameras at a very familiar spot to Potter fans. It seems that an upcoming production will take place at Durham Cathedral, which served as several locations for Hogwarts.

Thanks to some good old fashioned snooping from reporters, it looks like Durham Cathedral will serve as the latest location for the production of the highly-anticipated Avengers: Infinity War. The Tab reports that a number of vans have seen around Durham Cathedral marked with cards that read "Rigging" and "Construction," two fairly standard words in the film industry. After enhancing on the images of the cards, the words "Mary Lou" can be seen in the corners. Mary Lou is supposedly the working title for Avengers: Infinity War, which leads one to believe that this is the film currently setting up shop.

The evidence is further supported by the tight security surrounding the cathedral. Marvel movies tend to be some of the most secretive productions in Hollywood, and Infinity War is one of their biggest movies. It's already had its fair share of film set photo leaks, so it stands to reason that they would have plenty of security around their filming locations at all times to help turn away any peepers.

If Avengers: Infinity War is shooting at Durham Cathedral, it'll have to do some extra work to dress the set. The cathedral served as the location for a number of scenes at Hogwarts, most prominently in the first two Harry Potter films. The courtyard and the quadrangle hallways should be recognizable to even casual fans of the series, so Infinity War will likely need to disguise it a bit to keep people in the movie. That's not to say, though, we won't get a Harry Potter easter egg, which is always possible.

Avengers: Infinity War is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo with a script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The plot is being kept tight under wraps, but it will involve the Avengers and their allies trying to stop Thanos from assembling the Infinity Gauntlet, a device that would give him the power to do literally anything. It's easier to say who isn't in this movie than who is at this point but it will feature favorites like Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Scarlett Johansson, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany and Josh Brolin as Thanos.
