Annie Wersching, 24 & Star Trek Actor, Dies at 45
Annie Wersching, best known for her role as Renee Walker on 24 and the Borg Queen on Star Trek: Picard, has passed away at the age of 45. Wersching began acting in 2002 at the age of 25, when she first appeared in an episode of Star Trek: Enterprise as Liana. She would go on to act in over 40 television series, along with two film roles and two video games. Wersching first appeared on 24, a crime drama television series, during season 7 as FBI special agent Renee Walker. She continued in the role through season 8, before departing after her character's assassination.
It has been confirmed by Deadline that Wersching has died at age 45 after a two-year battle with cancer. A GoFundMe page created to support Wersching's sons says that she kept her cancer diagnosis fairly private, and wanted to "live her life, on her terms, and be with her family." Wersching leaves behind her husband, actor Stephen Full, and sons Freddie, Ozzie, and Archie. Read the statement given by Full below:

Wersching Starred in Many Iconic Properties
Since the announcement of Wersching's passing, many have taken to social media to share their memories of her. Neil Druckmann, co-president of The Last Of Us video game developer Naughty Dog, wrote, "We just lost a beautiful artist and human being. My heart is shattered. Thoughts are with her loved ones." Aaron Waltke, co-producer of Star Trek: Prodigy, posted to Twitter that Wersching was "a beacon of light in every role she played," and that "her work was some of the best I’ve seen in recent memory."
Wersching appeared in dozens of iconic television properties since 2002, including roles on Angel, Supernatural, CSI, and Blue Bloods. Alongside her major role on 24, she also held recurring roles on Bosch, Timeless, and Runaways. Wersching is also known for her key role as Lily Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries, and Tess in the Last of Us video game, where she did Tess' voiceover work and performance capture. With Wersching having appeared in so many beloved franchises and properties, her loss is felt in numerous areas within the entertainment world. Wersching made an impact in a variety of compelling roles, often finding intriguing threads of humanity within darker characters, as seen with her arcs on Timeless and Runaways. With The Last of Us, she made her mark on one of the franchise's most pivotal characters.
