The latest Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailer hints Kang has killed Avengers before. Directed by Peyton Reed, the upcoming sequel to 2018's Ant-Man and the Wasp will follow Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) as he and his family explore the Quantum Realm, a place he was stuck in prior to the events of Avengers: Endgame and one that has inspired numerous questions across the franchise. Set to premiere on February 17, the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie will see the hero go head-to-head with Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors), who is expected to be the primary villain throughout much of Phases 5 and 6.

When the first official trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was released, audiences got a look at Kang and the challenge he will present for Scott.

Now, Marvel Entertainment has shared a new promo for the film, highlighting more of its action and teasing Kang's abilities. What is most striking is that during a confrontation with Scott, Majors' villain asks if he has killed him before, suggesting that Kang the Conqueror has defeated a number of Avengers.

Will Scott Be Able To Defeat Kang In Ant-Man 3?

As the premiere of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania gets closer, many have been wondering whether Scott will actually be able to defeat Kang. Majors' appearances throughout the MCU are building towards Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, but his character has variants, as seen in the Disney+ series Loki. Because of that, it is possible that Ant-Man could take down Kang in some way, but that would not necessarily prevent his rise as a villain. Theories surrounding the fate of Scott predict that he may die by the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but as indicated in one of the most recent trailers, he does not have to win.

Everything We Know About Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

In addition to Rudd and Majors, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania stars Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathryn Newton, William Jackson Harper, and Bill Murray, who will appear as Lord Krylar. Based on the trailers, it seems like Janet van Dyne is familiar with Kang, telling Scott that he cannot be trusted and leaving questions about what might have happened to her during her time in the Quantum Realm. Footage from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has also revealed parallels between Scott and his daughter Cassie, who will receive her own suit in this movie.

The fight between Scott and Kang the Conqueror will likely lead to an emotional outcome, so it will be interesting to see what happens. The idea that Kang has killed other Avengers before makes him a dangerous antagonist looking ahead at some of the MCU's future projects, and if Scott can find a way to defeat him, it is worth wondering if Ant-Man will be a part of the next Avengers film. Those looking forward to learning more about the Quantum Realm and the threat posed by Kang can be sure to check out Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania when it premieres.
