Adam Sandler & Jennifer Aniston Reunite in Murder Mystery 2 Trailer
The Murder Mystery 2 trailer has arrived, offering a closer look at the Murder on the Orient Express-inspired comedy. The film is a sequel to the Netflix original feature Murder Mystery, which premiered on June 14, 2019. It follows NYPD officer Nick Spitz (Adam Sandler) and his murder mystery-lover wife Audrey (Jennifer Aniston) when their European vacation is cut short by the violent death of a billionaire and the blame falls on them, forcing them to try and solve his murder. At the time, the film had the biggest opening weekend in Netflix history, so the company quickly greenlit a sequel, which was announced that October.
Today, Netflix unleashes the official trailer for the film ahead of Murder Mystery 2's release on March 31.

The Murder Mystery 2 trailer opens on a quiet evening in Paris, where a tranquil restaurant has its wall demolished by a speeding vehicle with Sandler and Aniston inside. This exciting moment kicks off a collection of clips from the upcoming comedy, which sees the couple going on another lavish vacation that is interrupted by murder and mayhem. In addition to solving a new mystery, they must also match wits with an expert detective played by Kingsman: The Secret Service's Mark Strong, who has just arrived on the scene.
Everything We Know About Murder Mystery 2
As shown in the trailer, there is going to be quite a bit of overlap between the original Murder Mystery and Murder Mystery 2. In addition to Sandler and Aniston reprising their roles, the film's returning cast includes Adeel Akhtar as Maharajah (the character whose wedding kicks off the events of the plot when he is kidnapped and held for ransom) and John Kani as Colonel Ulenga. Also returning is original screenwriter James Vanderbilt, though original director Kyle Newacheck has been replaced by The Wedding Ringer's Jeremy Garelick.
In addition to Strong, the new cast members playing various suspects include Mélanie Laurent, Jodie Turner-Smith, Enrique Arce, Tony Goldwyn, Annie Mumolo, and Wilmer Valderrama (who has also appeared on Netflix recently, reprising the role of Fez in the reboot series That '90s Show). The stakes are much different this time around, as the Spitzes have decided to become full-time detectives and are struggling to find clients. Solving this mystery will not only help save the life of their friend, it will most likely help them gain a new list of high-profile clients.
It remains to be seen if Murder Mystery 2 can recapture the magic that attracted so many viewers to the original in 2019. However, in true sequel fashion, it seems to have upped the ante considerably, turning up the volume on the action-packed comedy of the original while transporting viewers to a remote island and the streets of Paris. Considering the fact that this is the first sequel in Adam Sandler's lucrative run with Netflix, they seem quite confident that it will be a major success.
