Description

HD-torrents is one of the best HD trackers. This is one of my go to trackers for untouched blu-rays and remuxes. Users can join through invitations. This is one of the must join trackers and currently among the best if you can't join HDbits or Awesome-HD. The thing is that you need a seedbox or high speed connection to survive on this tracker. No other way around that. There is a requirement to download at least 15 GB per quarter (3 months). The year is divided into 4 quarters. Statistics will start on 0:00 on 1st day on every quarter. If a member has not downloaded 15 GB till 26th on 3rd month of every quarter (March, June, September, December) he/she will be informed by blinking value of the downloaded amount during current quarter. If the user has not downloaded 15GB till 23:30 on last day of the 3rd month of the current quarter his/her account will be disabled. All newly registered members will enjoy a grace period until the 1-st day of the next quarter. The rule is valid for all members except VIP and above classes. The staff members are very friendly from my experience. The forums are active. A lot of information regarding hardware, software, encoding and quite sociable. HD-t has many talented internal groups and a lot of very good quality HD content and are very quick in uploading Blu-ray releases. HD-t should be in discussion for one of the best trackers for HD content. I see people always mentioning AHD, HDB, Chinese trackers, but HD-t not so much. It needs to get some love. Options to buy accounts and p2l don't help with the love and likable image but I say that content makes up to it. The site isn't polished, but it has almost everything you could want. There isn't any 100% freeleech so when starting you have to choose wisely what to download so that you don't get in a trouble. The easiest way is to just get a seedbox for one or two months. It's not hard to build a good ratio here if you have a seedbox (Deluge). Preferably get one that you can run both ruTorrent and Deluge and then use autodl-irssi to download the torrents to Deluge's watch folder). Auto-dl works very well on this tracker and will gain you a lot of upload. Earning bonus points is very hard.

This is by far the hardest tracker to keep a good ratio that I've ever seen, if you not got a seedbox you don't have a hope.

I suppose you didn't try really hard trackers to seed like BitMeTV, Bibliotik etc...

IMO HD-Torrents is not easy, but not that hard either. If a user download THE LATEST torrents or some featured torrents (25%, 50% or 100% free leech) he won't have a problem.

One is for sure. I definitely recommend HD-Torrents to every HD lover. Amazing tracker, easy to join and they don't ban a lot like other shitty trackers :)

@GumFrog, do what @TheTrader said, also you can always upload stuff for a good ratio, i've hardly gotten around 20-30gb from seeding what i downloaded rest 400gb+ came from uploading torrents (which is a child's play on any HD tracker).

I wouldn't call that easy, I mean seeding what you download is hard. If you need to upload that means its hard to seed. Anyway cross seeding is how I get by on there with using a home connection. I agree its an excellent tracker, definitely one of the better ones but it is listed as easy in tracker list here and I don't think that is right. I've also been told by experienced users there it is harder than most tracers to keep a good ratio one user in particular runs another site so I would be fairly sure he knows what he is on about. But I was able to get 5-10GB is a little over an hour, a day or two ago from cross seeded torrent and that made up for the other stuff I had downloaded.

I'm not for second saying its not a good tracker, its really great but I was under the impression it would be easier from the way it was described here.

They also got some of the best internals on the planet, its definitely one you want to get on to.

One thing I can't agree though. they do ban a good amount there, they even have a thread guessing how many will be banned this quarter and the guesses are in the thousands.

When we say "they don't ban a lot" we mean that they don't ban for silly reasons like other trackers. Because you invited a user and he invited an other bad user... because the guy who invited you also invited an other bad user etc.

The quarter rule they have on HD-Torrents is a great rule. If somebody won't download 15GB (an HD movie or a few HD TV episodes) every 3 months, he doesn't really need the tracker. They also notify users way earlier about the quarter rule, so it's pretty easy for a user who cares about the tracker to avoid any problems. They just want active users on their tracker. Fair and square :)

Yes if you do not have a seedbox it is not easy i think This is why they give lots of invitations to their members.

I agree with you guys. If you don't have a seedbox or you have very slow internet you can have a problem with maintain a good ratio that is true. I think the best way to have a good ratio there is download their internals especially REMUX because you have -25 or 50% download and many users always download REMUXes from there. If you have slow connection and don't use seedbox then you should cross-seed a lot i guess. HDT is a really great tracker.

I have to agree with a few on here. If you don't have a seedbox or at least a gig connection it is going to be hard to survive. Of course just like any tracker you can donate to save yourself.

There is a good mix of content too. I have found that some of the older TV show seasons and older posted torrents are very low seeded, and usually seems to be by someone with poor connection or they have throttled the seed, but if you do what I do and download new content even if you don't want it (specially the 25%, 50%, 75% off torrents) you can easily make it. Great community of people and a great forum full of useful information for those that might be starting out like I was. This was my first tracker, and there is no way I am leaving.

To those who find it is hard to increase upload credit

It is super easy to maintain ratio there, period. Torrenting is all about sharing and if you don't want to share then it is super hard for you everywhere. So, upload some torrents there and download some. That way you can maintain a healthy ratio over there. I use a home connection of 5 Mbit/s and I have an upload credit of 20TB+ at around 2 years of my membership at HD-T. So, chhers!

Also jumping early on their internal releases is always a good way to increase your ratio. They always gather the majority of the swarm

They dont from what i know. they usualy trump the scene releases or lower quality ones once an internal or better version is uploaded + here are some prohibited content from theyr upload rules:

Prohibited content:

Any SD video.

Any upscaled or upconverted content, e.g. DVD-to-HD, 2D-to-3D, mp3-to-flac.

Any re-encodes of other encodes a.k.a. BRRips; WEB-DL re-encodes.

Any custom Blu-rays

Any disk images (.iso or other) except for 3D blu-rays.

Any freely available web content.

Any encode/remux with additional non-original audio tracks (except English dub audio only for animations and additional dub tracks for 2160p categories).

720p and 1080i/p encodes with lossless audio (except up to 2.0 audio tracks which can be FLAC).

Any BD50-to-BD25 Re-encodes

Any watermarked encode.

Any BD5/BD9 encodes

Any cams, line audio, lossy audio albums.

So called R5 blu-rays (Digital TeleCine recordings) and any encodes thereof.

Any movie packs (except dual movie Blu-rays, and season packs of TV/mini series), in particular any siterips.

Any altered encodes with audiotracks/subtitles added/removed in the mkv container.

Any encodes where the size and/or the bitrate imply a bad quality of the encode. In case of doubts please contact the staff before uploading.

That's quarterly download quota, not SEED TIME REQUIREMENT or HNR. Quarterly download quota and seed time/HnR are completely different thing my friend :)

I was just simply stating an HDT specific requirement which might get your account disabled.
But since you are giving me torrenting lessons how about next quarter you download 5 torrents of 2.5GB each, seed them to 100:1 ratio for an indefinite amount of time and let me know if your account gets disabled. After all there is no seeding time requirement and Hit & Run is no issue

I think HD-Torrents is a musthave if a person loves HD.
