The News I Never Wanted To Have To Post.

It's with a heavy heart that I bring you this news post today.

It seems once again that FACT (Federation Against Copyright Theft) have gone after the small site rather than those that make thousands each and every month in profit.

But what can we do ? I guess small sites make for big numbers :-(

I have been under investigation by FACT for some time it seems and to avoid being dragged through the courts and having huge legal fee's I have to adhere to their demands.

They have said that I need to hand them over the domain to this site and to cease my involvement with running such a site. If I comply then any and all charges against me will be dropped.

This means that in the coming week the domain torrentshack.net (Registered to me) will be handed over to FACT for them to do with as they please. When this happens the site at this domain will no longer function.

This is the reason why the PayPal was removed from the site a few days ago as I did not want donations to be made that could not be used towards the costs of running the site.

They have not asked for anything from the DataBase. Simply that I stop what I am doing and sign over the domain. In simple terms, the Domain is simply the URL you type in to visit the site. It has no connection with your accounts, your security. There is no reason fro anyone to worry.

It's been a great run and I have really enjoyed what we have done here over the last few years. I want to thank everyone that has made it possible.

I guess I proved that what they said "Couldn't" be done.... Actually "Could" be done.

This is just sad. TSH's a small but wonderful site...why would a agency like FACT go after TSH where there are bigger sites out there? Hell,Tsh didn't even have XXX torrents! I think they came to know of the sysop's identity,hence they could go after him/her directly. This is a very sad news indeed...:(

tsh small yet wonderful tracker. ratioless but not seederless, definetely miss that place.

Yeah totally sucks best site i have been on in years and really the only one i use lately. Now i have to try and find a replacement. I hope everything works out for you guys and you come back one day.

Its official,TSH is down now...try logging on and it shows only "Site Down". Even their tracker is showing a HTTP 502 error.

R.I.P TSH...it was the best ratioless tracker ever.

It was a great site. Fast speeds and variety of different kind of content. A big loss to the whole community :(

That was his big mistake, using your real name for domain registration. Without that the site would be most likely still up and running.

The site was great and one of my favorite.
Sad to see it closed.

Well... this means onlt bad news for me.I really liked the tracker.

RTN has decided to fill the void left by TsH. They are now truly ratioless,just like TsH was...:)

if they accept the old users of TSH for newcomers, that would be great. because lots of people are homeless now.

It was a great tracker, I liked the "pre" feature they had, where you could see the pre'd released and request them if they are not uploaded and see which releases got uploaded that among all other great features Tsh offered. RIP a

I also hope people will learn from this incident and work harder to cover their personal info when signing up for this kind of stuff.

It seems that the registration is open for RTN right now. I don't know how long it'll stay like that though :)

registration is open long time ago
it is just useless tracker and it can't be compared to TSH

I know it doesn't compare at all to TSH, but for a TSH refugee who might not have access to other ratioless trackers it is better than nothing, right? :)

of course, also members make a tracker. if they got good members, they'll become eventually a good tracker.
but i can tell you -from what i heard- it won't happen. soon at least:)
