Proxies/Tor/VPNs/Tunnels/Darknets/etc are FORBIDDEN

Any account found using a proxy/vpns/tunnels/darknets/etc to mask real ips (this includes TOR proxies) without prior authorization from the staff will be disabled and banned immediately, and with no exception. If you signed up from behind a proxy, you WILL be disabled even if it was before this announcement. THERE IS NO ASSUMED OR IMPLIED authorization! ONLY the people with prior authorization which has been noted on their account by AN ADMIN are exempt from this policy. (And even they may come under additional scrutiny due to their use of any method of masking their true IP address.)

It has come to our attention that MANY people are trying to use Proxies/Tor/VPNs/Tunneled Traffic/Darknets/etc and are ignoring this rule, unless YOU, IN YOUR account notes (which can only be seen by staff) HAVE express ADMIN permission (for a GOOD reason) to use a proxy, YOU CANNOT. Using one anyways, regardless of what apps, plugins, or programs you are using, WILL result in you being disabled immediately.

This policy has been in effect for nearly 3 years, but I will give a grace period of just over a day for people to see this announcement, so starting on Sunday 29th September 23:59 GMT ALL accounts found with a KNOWN or UNKNOWN Proxies/Tor/VPNs/Tunnels/Darknets/etc WILL be disabled and will NEVER BE RE-ENABLED!

Any questions feel free to contact a member of the staff - but don't expect any change in policy as this rule has been on site since Day 1...HUNDREDS of accounts have already been disabled on both our sister sites, as well as this site.

Using Proxies/Tor/VPN/Tunnels/Darknets your traffic is nothing more than a way of hiding your HOME IP with another IP, in other words a way of MASKING WHO YOU ARE. We do NOT find this acceptable on a site where unfortunately some "members" feel the need to be deceptive with us, and others, in order to gain access to our material. This is a policy that is for the good of the site and YOU other members, as well as the contents and material that the site members have access to.

If you are connecting from your modem at home and aren't using any sort of software "get-arounds", add-ons, extensions, or other tweaks you SHOULD be fine. HOWEVER, it is NOT our responsibility to TELL YOU if YOU are using a proxy or any other means of masking your IP. If you don't know you better find a way to find out before you reconnect to the site because if you are found to be doing so...you WILL BE BANNED AS SOON AS ANY MEMBER OF STAFF SEES...and we ARE watchingAny PMs or Staff messages asking if you are already using a proxy or anything to this effect, WILL be binned, that is, left UNANSWERED.

The Use of Proxies/Tor/VPN/Darknets/BNCs are also all forbidden in the IRC/chat We have automatic host masking turned on there, so your IP is masked/hidden by default. Anyone found breaking this policy WITHOUT WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION TO DO SO ON THEIR ACCOUNT BY AN ADMIN PRIOR TO CONNECTING will be kicked from the chat, repeat offenders will be banned from the chat and/or banned from the site as well! NO QUESTIONS ASKED, NO EXCUSES ACCEPTED.

For Seedbox Users:
To answer one question that many seedbox users will have, is how this will affect them: a VPN is defined as using a server to bounce IP/data through this - NOT using a section of a shared server to seed with. DO NOT connect to the site through your seedbox as your browser, just use it as your server that you are seeding from. If you are going to be using a seedbox on the site CONTACT THE STAFF so that they can make a note of it on your account along with the IP address of the seedbox and if it is a shared or dedicated seedbox, this way if there are any anomalies in your account they can be dealt with accordingly. If you stop using a seedbox, or change seedbox servers let us know that you have stopped using one and/or the details on the new seedbox server so we can update our records.

Again...Any account found using a proxy/vpn/tunnels/darknets/etc to mask real ips (this includes TOR proxies) without prior authorization from the staff will be disabled and banned immediately, and with no exception. If you use a proxy (or similar) EVEN IF IT IS JUST ONE TIME after Sunday 29th September 23:59 GMT you WILL be disabled. If you have a history of repeatedly using proxies (or similar) prior to this announcement you are at risk of being disabled due to the fact that the FAQ page (which you checked a box stating you agreed with at the time you joined the site) states: "Any account found using a proxy to mask real ips (this includes TOR proxies) will be disabled and banned." This leaves you with NO excuse apart from a refusal to comply with policies that you stated you agreed with and to follow when you signed up for the site.
