Looking back on 5 years!


April 22nd is not only earth day but the day this beautiful tracker opened its doors to the world. I'm not sure where to start, so let me just say the following:


WOW! and let us thank the following people who have helped us get to this milestone.....


(This is in no real order so calm down)


- Our founder, We wouldn't be here if it weren't for your vision. We will be forever indebted to you for what you started and paved the way for us to continue. You definitely had a great idea and execution and we are so thankful and glad you started this site. So ~tips hat~


- Our users! It is hard running a niche site. We only really appeal to a select few, as we don't get the latest movies, games, applications, and etc. It is mind blowing to see over 3,000 users here, and the numbers are always climbing up. So thank YOU for coming here for your needs. We can't thank you enough. While many will say that content makes a tracker, it wouldn't be anything without really awesome users like all of you. Thank you for sticking through our ups and downs, and helping to make this site what it is today!


- Staff, both old and new: to the many that have graced the mighty toolbox and staff section, we thank you. We appreciate everything you've done for us in helping us get to where we are today. All that aren't with us any more, we hope you're all doing well in your new endeavors. I won't go into names, but you all are missed!


- Trackers past and present! Sadly, not every tracker lasts forever. We've had some really great amazing trackers close up. To call out one in particular, when TheBox closed up shop, it was like losing a best friend. That person who was always there, helping you out when needed, but one day disappeared and left you with that empty feeling? That is how it feels, TheBox was with us from infancy until their very end, leaving memories that we will never forget. On the brighter side, we've also made some great friends with other trackers. I won't name you all but you can pretty much assure yourself I'm talking about you!

This is Fuzzypants and I'd like to give a HUGE thank you to our sysops Ornithopter. Most of you probably don't talk to Ornithopter, unless you manage to stumble upon one of Ornithopter's cooking, sailing or biking adventures in IRC. But Ornithopter has been here since nearly day one, he has done so much for us behind the scenes. And just being an all around kick ass guy, it just wouldn't be the same without him around. He has been thick and thin with us and we couldn't have asked for a better guy to run this site. So from all of us we'd like to thank Ornithopter for all that he does. He is also coming up on being a member for 5 years here! Make sure you send him a PM and tell him thanks and congratulations!

...2014 is a big year for ScienceHD! We are growing stronger and stronger every day and have lots of plans and ideas for the future. Lets start this celebration off right with an activity week!


EVERYONE is eligible to win! And there are plenty of prizes and contest categories for you to kick ass in!
The contest runs this entire week, from 12:01AM of the 22nd to 11:59PM of the 29th (UTC Timezones).


* Freeleech Leech-Off: Global Freeleech! 1 invite and 1 month of VIP status will go to the person who leeches the most data! Hit and Runs will still apply.


* Uploading Contests: In each of the categories (video, book, e-learning, and app): Prizes to the most popular torrent in each category, as well as the most uploads in each category. The overall most popular torrent will earn you a $10 iTunes gift code AND an invite!


* Forum Post-Off: 1 invite and a custom title for both the person that makes the most posts, and the person that starts the most threads. However, please note that spamming indiscriminately will disqualify you.


* IRC Insanity: Our largest giveaway, you have the ability to win; individual freeleech, credits, custom titles, and pretty much anything staff want to give out! But you have to be there and TALKING to win! Trivia and Uno in #SciHD-fun will also earn credits!

Like past contests we will have badges for the winners that won't be aviable after so make sure you get one!


Global Site Mile-Marker Contests


These are easy to compete in, but you'll have to work with your fellow members! These contests are a perfect opportunity to win the site a whole truckload of global freeleech! How? Well, the entire week will be freeleech already, but for each of these markers we meet, you'll earn more global FL!


* IRC: If we reach 200 people in our main IRC (#SciHD), we will have global freeleech for 2 days! No talking required. Though if you're in IRC, you might as well talk and win random prizes from the staff, right?


* Forum Posts: If we reach 100 new forum posts, everyone will gain an additional 12 hours of freeleech.


* Forum Topics: If we reach 50 new forum topics, everyone will gain 1 day of freeleech


* Site Download: If the site is able to transfer 1 TB of data during this week, an additional 24 hours will be added to everyone's freeleech time


* Uploaded Torrents: If you guys are able to upload a total of 300 torrents, we'll award a FULL WEEK of freeleech. It's an average of 1 torrent every 9 minutes 36 seconds, so get uploading!
