This site was started over seven years ago, with the goal of becoming a welcoming place for people to share science, learning, and education - a place for people who are curious about how the world works to come together. We've had quite the journey since then, and I'm very glad to say that I think we achieved that very well. We've been working the last seven years to make this place the best god damn documentary tracker out there. And by leaps and bounds it has! We have the best users, tightest community, and for a niche tracker we certainly have a ton of torrents. I think that I can speak for all of the staff, current and past, when I say that ScienceHD has been one of the biggest passions in our lives. It has truly been an honor to have been able to see this site grow, change, and develop over the years from the tiny place we once were trying to figure ourselves out, to the documentary powerhouse that we became.

And so, I am sad to announce that it is time for this journey to come to an end. We would like to close down in a way that allows everybody to get as much of our content as possible, and would like to encourage you to share it to other sites as widely as you can. To help this along, we ask all of you to seed all of your torrents to the best of your ability, in order to allow your fellow users to get as much downloaded as possible, all the way to the end.

• We have an archive tool for grabbing torrent zips, which we will be adding some more functionality on to download lots of torrents at once.

We understand people's natural response might be to go out of their way to try to figure out how to change our mind, but we would genuinely appreciate it if you are able to respect our decision. Please know that it did not come lightly.

You all have truly made this site amazing, and I would like to thank all of you, the members, for your piece in this site and for helping to make this place the great place that it is.

Maybe the are worried after what happened to BCG. Anyways it's no big deal, there will always be more trackers that replace the ones that close.

I can't agree with that. Replace is not always easy or equal, when it is about niche specialized trackers.

Yeah i know it that replacement wont be equal. I hope that the staff will put up the codebase somewhere so if someone decides to start a science related tracker they can use all what has already been done by scihd.

I have to agree with @whiteLight on this. Strict rules, shitty mods and very very closed community is a recipe to failure.
Too bad it's gone but i will certainly not miss it.

It will be missed because of their content. Some was easy to find in general trackers, some was very rare and impossible to find.

You are absolutely right about mods, rules and tracker attitude.
When users join trackers though, they go above all for the torrents, and they have to accept that there could be stupid rules, bad staffers etc :regular_smile:

This tracker wont be replaced so easily, they have content that has problems surviving on other trackers, + you alwasy new what you were downloading here, strict rules might have been a pain in the ass when uploading but there was order amoung torrents.

The sadest thing is that high lv trackers are droping like flies, maintaining this tempo there will be no pt in the mather of years.

who cares how staff was, a site is a site, they had great content. If you care that much about staff it is probably cause they caught you doing something you shouldn't have done lol

Most of the content will be downloaded by some users and uploaded elsewhere. Thegeeks have started accepting users from sciencehd and they also said that all scihd torrents uploaded will be freeleech till december. It was mentioned in the forum that a few staff members are stepping down and they cant continue anymore.

Really sad news :(

I agree with others about their rules & staff but I really like their content & new layout. Many won't agree but Fuzzypants is really cool & humble staff there.
