We will activate Download Freeze on all torrents site wide. This means your download counter will not be updated for any torrents, your upload will still count. This gives everyone a good chance to get on torrents they may have been too afraid to touch and to build a good buffer at the same time.

Q. How will I know what torrents have download freeze activated on them?
A. You will see the following icon ice.png in the download column next to the title of all torrents that have it activated, the words (DL FROZEN) next to the title of the torrent, plus the following icon ice2.png next to the bookmark star in the torrent details page.

Q. Is there a limit to how much I can download?

A. No, but it wouldn't be advisable to try to download every single download frozen torrent, remember you have only the weekend to download them all.

Q. What happens if my download doesn't finish in time?

A. Only the parts that were downloaded after the promotion period ends will be applied to your download counter. If you do not wish for this to happen, first don't be greedy and secondly switch to part seeding the files you do have shortly before it ends.

Q. How many torrents would be a good choice?

A. This will depend on the bandwidth of your connection available, best practice would be to wait until one has downloaded before starting the next, or two or three downloads at a time so your client doesn't lag. You are also limited by the amount of space on your hard drive(s).
