The Band Plays On...

After our last emotional post, I promised you some more news. As with all things in life, after it's time to say goodbye, it's time to keep on going. Although in the world of PassThePopcorn, we're usually lucky enough to have wonderful news to backend the sad. Today is no exception. I'd like to give everyone a chance to welcome Formal to the team. Formal is quite excited to be able to contribute to the staff team and to the community as a whole, and the entire team is quite excited to have Formal come aboard. Please join us in welcoming the new face of an old member as he takes on a new challenge within our community.

And please stop by and say hello to Formal in between your speculations ;)

There is no such thing as a constant in this digital world we call home. Torrents change, IPs change, tastes change as movies come and go, and sadly so do friends, mentors, leaders and colleagues.

Today I have a sad duty; as some of the more astute members have probably realized, the staff ranks have thinned, and with this thinning, has come a sadness.

First, we bid adieu to Fae, after over a year of service, his woodland brethren have called him back to their bosom. I hope my friend, you are frolicking in the forest of the real world with all the wonders that it brings.

Next, we say farewell to Krups, he has percolated his way to our hearts, and we will miss his energizing presence. Fare the well my friend, keep your reservoir full and your may your beans be as finely ground as those of the Gods.

Finally, and I write this with the heaviest of hearts, my dear friend Halfang has been over taken with real life and has left us all to the emptiness that his majesty will surely leave in it's wake. Defining himself as an institution, Halfy has been here, seemingly, as long as there's been a here (I know not really, but damn close). There are few that have had an impact on this place as deeply and persistent as Halfang. Not only has he performed his staff duties, but above and beyond that his work in these forms have helped forge the identity of the community, he's a rare mold, a maverick shucked the shackles and chains of conformity and did things in his own way, and in doing so, found a better way for our community to grow and communicate. Halfang, my dear friend, I will miss working with you, I will miss your silliness, and I will most of all, miss your grace. See you in the spam threads my friend, see you in the spam threads.
