One Extratorrent Clone And One Extratorrent Alternative Pop Up In The Wild

After Extratorrent.cd failed to meet the expectations of the fans of the defunct torrent site, another clone called Extratorrent.ag has appeared on the web.

The Extratorrent story is taking a similar turn as it was the case of KickAss Torrents, there may be a lot of imposters and fake clones in the coming days. It’s hard to predict for how long such websites would receive people’s attention.

The new Extratorrent lookalike torrent site is similar in appearance. However, the website doesn’t seem to claim that it’s directly related to Extratorrent.cc, it’s faq page displays the following description.

It might be the case or maybe not, but the website definitely wants to rope in some internet traffic on behalf of ET which went offline on May 17.

A strange thing about Extratorrent.ag, spotted by Telegiz, is that the site’s Movie section indexes almost all the torrents uploaded by the YIFY group which is also known to fuel another torrent site called YTS.ag.

Extratorrent2.cc

Amidst the ET parody lineup, a domain called Extratorrent2.cc has also come into existence. The torrent site doesn’t promote itself as created by ex-admins of Extratorrent, like in the case of Extratorrent.cd. The faq page of Extratorrent2.cc sells the torrent site as an alternative made by a fan.

“ExtraTorrent2.cc is A Fan Made Alternative. Extratorrent Was The World’s Largest BitTorrent System, ExtraTorrent2 is trying to replace it,” the website reads.
