The Next Nintendo Direct Is On January 11. Is piracy going to hurt?

The Nintendo Switch, this Christmas's most sought-after present, has been hacked, paving the way for installations of unofficial "homebrew" software - and potentially even pirated games. However, many doubt that Nintendo is able to maintain that rate of release for another year. The listings were quickly removed after being discovered by various websites, but are still a strong indication that Nintendo is gearing up to announce a number of new games for the Switch. Every single one is found at a price range between $59.99 Dollars and $99.99 USD. Additionally, every preorder is set for December 27, 2019, most likely as a placeholder.

Something that caught our attention is that none of the pages shows the cover of its product.

It is important to note that some of the dangers included in hacking a Switch come in the form of a warranty void, or at the worst case, being prohibited from certain future games which require a specific firmware update.

With no upcoming Nintendo Switch Events officially announced, fans are still buzzing... However, when you go looking for them on the Amazon Pre-Release section, you'll see that only Project Octopath Traveller is listed. Rumors have persisted that Nintendo will host a Nintendo Direct this month, with the latest rumors pointing specifically to January 11th.

According to John Harker of ResetEra, Nintendo will be holding their next Direct on January 11. That said however, there isn't anything downright stated by either of the parties involved so we must encourage you to take this with a huge grain of salt, as there have been leaks of other games and movies that have been proven wrong.
