The BitTorrent Engineering Team Updates uTorrent, Adds Bundle, and Launches Android Apps

BitTorrent today announced major updates to several of their products. Both the uTorrent and BitTorrent applications received updates.

The updates to both applications feature a completely redesigned user interface, friendlier, and aimed at improving usability. The blog post states, "BitTorrent for Android adds new features and reaches 50 million installs. Back home on your PC, BitTorrent desktop apps, including µTorrent 3.4, add Bundle integration and set the stage for faster updates."

One of the most requested features for the applications was the ability to download only selected files from torrents rather than having to download all of the files contained within, and this feature is now available. BitTorrent states, "We've also updated the apps with top-requested features, including the ability to select and download individual files within a torrent (before and after your download has started), choose download locations, and choose between deleting torrents only, or deleting both torrents and files. Along the way, we’ve improved overall performance and stability."

With the release of uTorrent version 3.4 today, along with it came the introduction of BitTorrent Bundle as stated in the release notes, and the Bundle is listed in the sidebar on the left after you update. More than 8000 publishers have signed up for Bundle already the company states. BitTorrent Bundle allows artists and rights-holders to embed value exchanges inside content. The release of uTorrent 3.4 is the first release which will enable more frequent releases in the future of the popular torrent client as stated in the BitTorrent Engineering Blog.
