Post How to Download Music Sheets from musescore.com for Free

    Hey everyone!

Every once in a while posts emerge about searching for trackers for specific content. While trackers are really good tools to get certain types of content, such as movies and TV shows, they are not always the best solution, some things can be downloaded easier from other sources.

A good example for this is sheet music. While the tracker Myanonamouse have a few of these, musescore.com has a much better and ever growing collection. In this tutorial I will teach you how you can download music sheets from their website for free!

    1. Install a userscript manager

First you will need to install a userscript manager for your browser. The two most popular ones are Violentmonkey and Tampermonkey. I recommend Violentmonkey, it is open source and it works both on Google Chrome and Firefox.

    2. Install the musescore downloader script

After you installed it, you will need to install the script that allows you to download the sheet music for free.
Go to this link and select the latest release of the script, it should be at the top of the page: https://github.com/LibreScore/dl-librescore/releases

Click on 'dl-librescore.user.js' under the latest release (it is v0.34.31. as of writing this tutorial). A new window will popup, asking if you would like to install the script. Click install or press Ctrl+Enter to install it.

    3. Download the music sheet from musescore

Now go to musescore.com and search for a music. Select a music sheet and on the right there will be a button saying "Download PDF". Click it and wait until it processes and after that it will download the music sheet as a PDF. Enjoy! You can even download the song as an mp3 or a midi.

Many thanks to the authors of the script!
