What was your first experience with 'the internet'?

At the coffee table at work we had a chat about our first experiences with the internet. I dialed in with a 9600 baud modem :slug: and joined several BBS' (Bulletin Board Systems) like Tucows, played MUD's (Multi User Dungeons), communicated with ICQ or IRC and started to download lots of MP3's to listen in WinAMP. What a heck of a time then....:trytofly: Then the speed doubled and doubled till 56K6 and then I got hold of a leased line for quite some time :P

High school around 1996 for me if i remember correctly. Started off with bbs dial up forums
