THE days of waiting until mid-morning for a Big Mac are officially over.

McDonald’s has announced it will serve an “all day menu” from today, meaning diners can get a burger at any time of day or night.

Traditionally, burger lovers had to wait until 10.30am for the breakfast menu to end before they were allowed to order a burger.

But, today, the fast food chain announced burgers including Quarter Pounders, Big Macs and cheeseburgers as well as Chicken McNuggets and fries would be available around the clock.

McDonald’s Australia marketing director Jo Feeney said the decision followed a sucessful trial of the all day menu in Victoria and South Australia earlier this year.

The new menu will also be available for drive-thru customers.

Last month Subway outraged its customers when it too shunned tradition in favour of a more hipster-friendly offering including crumbled feta and sun-dried tomatoes.
