Fire destroys buildings in Bali tourist area

FIRE has ripped through several buildings at a popular Bali tourist location in the island's south.

The fire broke out this afternoon at Uluwatu, an area renowned for its surf beaches.

Coconuts Bali reported fire is understood to have originated somewhere near Ulu Cliff and spread to Bluepoint in Labuansait in Bali’s Bukit Peninsula just up from the island’s famous Uluwatu surf break.

Footage posted on social media shows several building engulfed in flames and thick smoke could be seen billowing over the ocean.

It is not known what buildings were damage or if anyone was hurt in the blaze.
