Durov will donate millions of dollars to bypass the blockage in Russia

MOSCOW, April 17 (Itar-Tass) - RIA Novosti. The founder of Telegram Pavel Durov stated that he is ready to sponsor services that help to bypass the blocking of the messenger in Russia.

"I started to pay Bitcoin-grants to proxy and VPN administrators, and during this year I will be glad to donate millions of dollars of personal funds for these purposes," he wrote on his page in the social network VKontakte.

He also noted that the number of Telegram users in Russia is not too high, but this market is important to him "for personal reasons."

In conclusion, Durov urged Internet users to use proxy servers more actively and not forget that their content requires third-party funding.

Earlier it was reported that Roskomnadzor began blocking the IP-addresses of companies Amazon and Google, which used to circumvent the injunction. As the media reported, this decision led to violations in the work of many popular sites and online applications.

At the same time, the site of the supervisory authority underwent a large-scale DDoS attack. At 17:07 MSK access to the network resource is missing for more than an hour and a half.

On Friday Tagansky court of Moscow satisfied the suit of Roskomnadzor on blocking the resources of the messenger. This is due to Telegram's refusal to provide the FSB with encryption keys for decoding messages sent by users.

The agency said that the actions of the messenger's leadership are threatening the interests of the country and its citizens, as in Telegram they disseminate information about terrorist organizations.

Protection of the company claims that the requirements are not feasible for technical reasons - because of the messenger architecture, which does not imply the formation of a common cipher for the transmission of messages. Durov himself stated that Telegram would not agree to the terms of Roskomnadzor, since it advocates for the constitutional rights of citizens: freedom of speech and inviolability of private life.

On Monday, the regulator sent information to operators about the restriction of access to Telegram. They had to comply with the order within 24 hours.
