Brother of Florida shooter Nikolas Cruz arrested

THE brother of confessed Florida school shooter Nikolas Cruz was caught trespassing at Marjory Stoneman Douglas on Monday, according to police.

Zachary Cruz, 18, had been warned to stay away from the high school by faculty and staff, but that didn’t stop him from cruising through campus on his skateboard — bypassing locked doors and gates in the process, the Palm Beach Post reports.

The New York Post reports that the teen allegedly told police that he went there because he wanted to “reflect on the school shooting and soak it in.”

He was arrested Monday afternoon by deputies from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office and charged with trespassing.

Authorities told WPLG that Zachary Cruz was captured on surveillance footage — riding his skateboard onto the Stoneman Douglas campus around 4:30pm.

School officials have confirmed the incident, saying there was “no security breach.”

The younger Cruz has no reported connections to Broward County and was said to be living with family friends in Palm Beach County when his brother allegedly went on his shooting spree.

After the February 14 massacre, he was put under a mental-health evaluation following reports that he was suicidal.

“I don’t want to be alive. I don’t want to deal with this stuff,” Zachary Cruz told investigators, according to the Palm Beach Post.

The teen later insisted that he was fine and didn’t want to kill himself.

Nikolas Cruz, 19, has been charged in a 34-count indictment with killing 17 people and wounding 17 others. He is being held without bail and faces the death penalty.
