American General confirmed the presence of Russia's hypersonic weapons

MOSCOW, April 18 (Itar-Tass) - RIA Novosti. The head of the Strategic Command of the Pentagon, General John Hayten, said that the US military watched as Russia and China experience hypersonic missiles for various purposes.

He noted that he can not tell about any technical characteristics of these missiles, as well as to uncover the ways by which the US obtains such information. Nevertheless, he advised listening to Moscow's statements on the development of modern weapons.

"You have to believe the statements of Vladimir Putin about what he is working on," General Defense News quotes.

As the newspaper notes, Hayten did not mention whether the Russian missile is at the design stage or is already being tested, but "it was obvious that he took Putin's words very seriously."

The general added that in recent years the United States also tested hypersonic weapons, but the tests had to be suspended because they were "not successful."

On March 1, Vladimir Putin in his message to the Federal Assembly presented the latest types of Russian weapons that have no analogues in the world. We are talking about the Sarmat missile system, Poseidon underwater drones, a cruise missile with a nuclear power plant Burevestnik, the Dzhazin aerial missile system, and laser weapons. He also talked about the creation of a hypersonic weapon - the Avangard system, capable of flying in the dense layers of the atmosphere to the intercontinental range at a speed exceeding the Mach number by more than twenty times.
