Hi Guys.
Do you need a VPN with a private tracker?
As my VPN blocks all ports so i always show up as non-connectable. which of course can make it hard to keep up a ratio.
Any comments would be helpful... thanks

Private internet access is one of the recommended vpn providers that works with private trackers. You can forward your ports in your router. Check below
Code:https://portforward.com/router.htm
If it's copyright complaints you're worried about, then no you don't need a VPN.
Are you sure your VPN provider doesn't support port-forwarding though?
Thanks, I will look into this more then, as i have been using BlackVPN for some years now and to be honest they have never let me down when it comes to steady connections, their only 'downfall' is the block all ports.
I have also bought PUREVPN with Firewall, yet the connection is flaky, every 2-3 days i have to keep checking on it to ensure its up, also i could every get the port forwarding setup correctly even with the help of their tech support, so i stopped using it, even though i think i have 1-2 yrs left on the service.
thanks again
PIA is both cheap and good
In the UK, some isp's block them. Can easily be worked around with a vpn.
Some trackers disallow VPNs and you're likely going to get banned if you use VPN for site login.
IMHO, it's always best to use VPN when torrenting.
There are many other ways to increase your ratio. If your ratio is not good, try another way to boost it up.
For most general purpose use and privacy I feel Private Internet Access is a great choice, if you wanna stretch the wallet and are concerned about PIA being US based Mullvad is a great alternative.
So what's the best way of torrenting without worries to be banned due to using VPN and be safe in the same time? Seedbox?
If VPN is allowed on a tracker, can they know your real IP ? How do they deal with traded accounts or multiple accounts behind VPN ?
I ve tried NordVPN, PureVPN, Mullvad and currently IVPN. If you r paranoid get Mullvad.
NordVPN is an ok allrounder. Purevpn offers torrenting only with port forwarding costs arround + 12€/m but seriously i was really unhappy with purevpn and the connection isn t stable at all. I Use now iVPN and i think i ll stay here forever. They offer a new protocol called wireguard. Linus ( The guy who made Linux) said the code is really sick. It s just 4000 lines of code so every individual can review it and not only bigger entities. It offers multihop and a very good encryption level overall and i ve never seen speedlevels high as i ve done at Ivpn. (It also drains lot less battery on the phone) Their chat support is also legendary. The Purevpn support is also cool but we never solved any problem.
But it s "kinda" new so they call it beta and risky which indeed it is but so is openVPN.
IVPN is a bit expensive but there is a coupon on their page to get it very very very very very pricey. Arround 70$ for 15 Months.
Some trackers wont allow the VPN. Read the FAQ. I have been using VPN access for about a year with many trackers, flat out tell the admins when I join. Some are cool and say as long as my DL ip is the same, no issue. Some have flat out told me do it and the ban hammer comes down.
