Don't you think lots of content is very similar on all trackers? The same movies, tv-episodes, don't you think pirates became so lazy with bittorrent? Didn't it used to be that every tracker had kinda original content and there was a point for invite system in general when now not really... it's all about comfort? I think this kinda blocks the development of torrent trackers as a genre... :rock:

Not sure how you think trackers "make unique content", In my mind, propagation is the whole premise.
Some people will show favouritism to a certain tracker because they enjoy the internals they do?

The invite system still serves a point. Its a way to keep users "safe". I say safe because people want to think/know that certain law and copyright advocates/enforcement agencies are less likely or prevented from being engaged in the private trackers. Also the invite system helps detect those who misuse the trackers and try to cheat. There are invites to reduce the risk of excessive leechers. If there wasn't an invite system that tracked that people would take advantage of the great work that goes in to what we love and then no one would want to participate. Plus it allows mods to make examples out of banning people who abuse the system by banning everyone in the invite tree.
@nicubuga It's about diversification. If one tracker goes down, there'll be many more with the same content you can find
