Stop downloading torrents you need, and keep seeding the ones you have downloaded.
Look for staff pics to download, there's a few freeleech ones I think.
If your ratio is not bad then your ok and you don't need to be promoted quickly.
Just like Post101 said you don't need to be promote quickly check for Staff Picks on the Homepage to gain some buffer most of them are freeleech and if you can upload music even better for you as it will help you stay out of trouble and in the process get you promoted.
