The Indian teams will be playing a few warm-up games in England before their red-ball and white-ball matches in June and July. According to information received from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), the red-ball team, which has a Test in Birmingham from July 1, will play the Leicestershire County Cricket Club in Leicester from June 24.

It will be a four-day game, which is supposed to be a first class fixture as well. Cricbuzz had earlier reported that the team comprising all the regulars will fly to England around June 16.

Apart from the four-day fixture, the Indian white-ball team, which will arrive in England after playing a couple of T20I games in Dublin, Ireland, is also expected to play a couple warm-up fixtures against Derbyshire and Northamptonshire on July 1 and 3. India will play three ODIs and as many T20Is in England between July 7 and 17 after the Test concludes on July 5.

A standout feature of the whole arrangement is that the two Indian teams will be in action simultaneously, in two different countries. While the Indian T20I team will be playing Ireland on June 26 and 28, the Indian red-ball team will be involved in the first class game on those days in Leicester.

The whole arrangement is being overseen as well as orchestrated by head coach Rahul Dravid who, in coordination with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) management and selection committee, is planning the preparations for the twin tours of Ireland and England.

This will be followed by an away white-ball series in the West Indies and the US, and will be preceded by a five-game T20 home series against South Africa. The big task is now to select the teams, expected to take place physically next week.

"We are delighted to be welcoming India to Uptonsteel County Ground to help the side prepare for their busy summer schedule in England. It's incredibly exciting to have an international team decorated with world-class stars coming to Leicester, and lining up against the likes of Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah will prove an invaluable learning experience for our young squad," said a spokesman for the Leicestershire County, adding that the county will be live-streaming the match.

"Our city has a rich diversity, with a hugely passionate Indian cricket following, so we know that the team will receive tremendous support from the local community across all four days. For fans back home, we will be showcasing the fixture on our enhanced free streaming service on YouTube, while our social media channels and official app will also provide behind-the-scenes coverage."
