Samsung One UI beta is coming to the Galaxy Note 9 in more regions

With the Samsung Galaxy S10 slated to release in the first half of 2019, Samsung is hard at work on a redesigned software experience that's optimized for the upcoming flagship's rumored Infinity-O display. That's not to say, however, that Samsung One UI won't make it to older devices as well. In fact, the company has already started a One UI beta program for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ in the US, but the software update is also expected to arrive on the Note 9, the Note 8, and even the S8/S8+.

Last week, the One UI beta for the Galaxy Note 9 went live in the United States, but starting today, it is also rolling out in Germany and India, according to SamMobile. Registrations to take part in the beta program are also open via the Samsung Members app. As has been the case in the past, the number of available slots for testers is likely limited, so if you'd like to take Samsung One UI for a spin on your Galaxy Note 9, you'd better sign up sooner, rather than later. The One UI will be made available in the following regions: United States, South Korea, Germany, Poland, Spain, China, France, India, and the United Kingdom.

Aside from tweaks and improvements that will make the software look and work better on the Samsung Galaxy S10, there are also a lot of general improvements that will also affect older devices receiving the update. For example, Samsung is building its own gesture-based navigation system, which is going to make its debut with One UI. There's also the long-awaited system-wide dark mode, alongside many other functional and cosmetic improvements to Samsung's proprietary Android skin.
