Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to receive Oreo update in Canada starting on April 5th

Those in Canada who own the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 need to circle April 5th on their calendar. That is when Android 8.0 is scheduled to start rolling out to Galaxy Note 8 owners who are subscribers to Canadian wireless operator Rogers. The latter already has posted the date on its website. As for those Canadian Galaxy Note 8 owners who are customers of other carriers in the country, it should be noted that Samsung usually releases carrier updates all at one time.

Android 8.0 includes the new Picture-in-Picture feature which allows you to watch video while still interacting with an app running in the background. The update adds notification dots, which are seen on the home screen icons of apps with an unread notification. The redesigned Settings menu in Android 8.0 is streamlined to make it easier to read, and users can automatically snooze a notification for 15 minutes by swiping it to the right.

Once you receive the notification that Android 8.0 is ready to be downloaded and installed on your Galaxy Note 8, make sure you are connected to a Wi-Fi network before starting the updating process. At the same time, the battery on the unit should be fully charged before updating the phone to Android Oreo.
