Report:2018 Apple iPhone pre-orders to start September 14th with a launch on the 21st
According to a report out of Germany that is based on the word of two unnamed German carriers, pre-orders for the 2018 Apple iPhone models will start on Friday, September 14th. This will be two days after the unveiling of the new units, which we expect to take place on Wednesday, September 12th. And the expected launch date for the three new iPhones will be Friday, September 21st.
In addition, the word out of German is that iOS 12 will be released on September 18th. Earlier today, as we have already told you, Apple pushed out iOS 12 developer beta 9. The public version of the beta should be available within days.
At this point, it would be a surprise if Apple didn't introduce a 5.8-inch Apple iPhone Xs, a 6.5-inch Apple iPhone Xs Plus, and the Apple iPhone 9 with an LCD display. While the latter is expected to be the lowest priced option of the three (the first two models will sport OLED panels), all three phones will be powered by the 7nm A12 chipset built by TSMC and sport the TrueDepth Camera. That means all three models will feature Face ID.
So circle the four dates on your calendar, or use the calendar on your phone to keep track of them:
- September 12th (Wednesday)-possible unveiling of the 2018 Apple iPhone models.
- September 14th (Friday)-pre-orders tipped to begin.
- September 18th (Tuesday)-iOS 12 rumored release date.
- September 21st (Friday)-rumored launch date for the 2018 iPhone models.
These dates are not official; if they are off, they are probably are not off by much. Plan your phone buying schedule accordingly.
