Qualcomm's powerful Snapdragon 8150 chipset may be unveiled on December 4
The Moto Z4 could be one of the first smartphones to include the unannounced Snapdragon 8150, according to a recent report. Qualcomm's next flagship chipset is expected to be unveiled early next month after the SoC (system-on-chip) was certified back in October.
Yesterday, Qualcomm China announced that its next-generation chipset, Snapdragon 8150 will be officially introduced on December 4. Now, we already know many of the chip's technical specs since some of its benchmarks recently leaked online.
It's important to note that Snapdragon 8150 features the same architecture as the Huawei's Kirin 980 and Samsung's Exynos 9820 chipsets, which are based on a three-cluster CPU core design. The chipset still accommodates eight cores, but they are managed slightly differently: a 2.84GHz large performance core, three 2.4GHz medium cores, four 1.78GHz small efficiency cores.
Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8150 chipset is expected to make its way into many of the next year's Android flagship smartphones, but it's nice that we'll learn more about it before the first products hit the shelves.
