pod2g Confirms Untethered Jailbreak Also Works on iOS 5.1.1

pod2g seems to be on a roll. He has just confirmed that his untethered jailbreak also works on iOS 5.1.1.

Few hours back, he had confirmed that his untethered iOS 5.1 jailbreak works on the new iPad*and even posted a*video of the untethered iPad 3 on iOS 5.1*on his blog.

He just tweeted:

OK, tested on an iPad 3,1 running 5.1.1. Jailbroken untethered. No issue.

pod2g has clarified that since his untethered jailbreak works on iPhone 4 and iPad 3, it should work with other iOS 5.1 devices like iPhone 4S and iPad 2 as well. But it may not work with Apple TV 3. So the same should apply for iOS 5.1.1.

pod2g has said that it will still take him “some weeks” to release a user friendly tool for his untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1. Until then, iPhone 4S and iPad 2 users can use the latest of Redsn0w to downgrade to iOS 5.0.1 and jailbreak their device using Absinthe jailbreak.
