Pixel 3 XL live images confirm display notch, design changes, and more

After recent information revealed that the larger Google Pixel 3 XL would boast a tall display complete with a small notch up top, a new set of live images allegedly shows off the smartphone in full, confirming recent rumors.

Starting up front, the Pixel 3 XL clearly sports a large display complete with extremely thin side bezels. Additionally, this is accompanied by a relatively small notch up top that appears to boast two front-facing selfie cameras. However, the nature of the second lens is currently unknown. Also present inside the notch is an in-ear speaker that, along with a second one present in the display’s bottom chin, offer a stereo speaker setup, just like the one seen on last year’s Pixel 2 lineup.

Moving on to the rear, the internet giant looks set to include nearly the exact same design as last year’s lineup. This means an aluminum body that ends just above the rear fingerprint sensor and a small glass section that continues towards the top of the smartphone. However, if these images are accurate, it seems as though Google has pulled the glass down slightly on either side, with it eventually wrapping around the entire smartphone’s rear, creating the illusion that the metal portion is placed on top. As an added note, the back panel also reveals a single rear camera, suggesting Google will once again forgo the recent two-sensor trend. Nevertheless, if the Pixel 2 XL’s camera is anything to go by, the Pixel 3 XL will surely impress in that department.

Although the images in question are certainly indicative of what the final device will look like, the typical Google “G” logo has clearly been replaced on the rear to symbolize that it’s still a prototype, suggesting that changes to the final design could still be made before the reveal in early October.
